AAM - Post-print.

APC (Article Processing Charge) - Publication fee for open access journals paid by the author.

Creative Commons (CC) -license - Extends the terms and conditions of copyright of a work to fit specific needs.

Digital Object Indentifier (DOI) - A permanent identifier of electronic document, heavily used in the commercial scientific publishing area.

Embargo - A publisher's restrictions on how soon an article can be published in an open archive.

Gold open access -  A scientific article is published in an OA-journal with a publication fee.

Green open access - Parallel publishing of an article in a freely accessible university institutional repository.

Institutional repository - Online archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating digital copies of the intellectual output of a research institution. Osuva is institutional repository.

Libre open access - In addition to free access user rights, additional rights are given using Creative Commons licenses.

Open access (OA) -  Online research outputs that are free of all restrictions on access.

Parallel publishing - Self-archiving.

Persistent identifier (PID) - name spaces for recording the names and locations of electronic documents, e.g. DOI, handle and URN.

Post-print - Refereed version of an article, including changes, Final Draft, Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM).

Pre-print - Version of an article that has not yet been refereed, Submitted Version Under Review (SMUR).

Publisher's PDF - Published version of an article.

Self-archiving - A refereed and published article in a scientific journal is made freely available e.g. in a university's institutional repository. Parallel publishing.

Sherpa/romeo - Publisher copyright policies & self-archiving.
